O-S Winery

February 25, 2015

A boutique Washington winery that impresses is O-S Winery. Started in 1997, by Bill Owen and Rob Sullivan, O-S Winery is located in Sodo District of South Seattle. Their tasting room is a few clicks down from the flagship Costco store on 4th Avenue. A visit to their quaint tasting room will not disappoint. O-S has gained prestige for their Riesling, as a few years back their 2009 Champoux Vineyard Riesling was given 93 points from Wine Enthusiast.
Many of their reds have also achieved 90 plus scores from Wine Enthusiast in the past 10 years – and tasting their solid lineup of reds, I was not surprised at the previous ratings. Most of their reds are balanced but dense and are food friendly. Tasting room staff are friendly and knowledgeable, so if you are in Sodo and want to do some wine tasting, this is a great option. Many of their wines can be found for under 20 bucks at local grocery stores, such as Fred Meyer, Safeway and QFC.
