Here is the dazzling 2023 release by Domaines Ott.

Domaines Ott

December 26, 2024

Today it is my pleasure to share one of the hallowed houses in the Cotes du Provence. Domaines Ott was founded in 1912 by Marcel Ott, an agricultural engineer from Alsace who dreamed of establishing a great wine estate near the Mediterranean. He moved to Cavalaire in 1896 and founded Château de Selle in 1912, followed by Clos Mireille in 1935 and then Château Romassan in 1956. These wines are made at their respective estates in the Bandol and Côtes de Provence appellations. Now more than 20 years ago in 2004 Domaines Ott was in the hands of Marcel’s descendants, until the property was purchased by Champagne Louis Roederer. Today several of the Ott family members remain involved in production.

The new 2023 release was absolutely fabulous. I love the 2023 Domaines Ott ‘Chateau de Selle’ Cotes de Provence Rose (OB, 93) which is beautifully poised and balanced, with terrific freshness and texture, exuding class with its salty undertones. Learn more about this famed Provence house at https://www.domaines-ott.com/en and here is my review of the new release by Domaines Ott.

2023 Domaines Ott ‘Chateau de Selle’ Cotes de Provence Rose- The brilliant 2023 Cotes de Provence Rose ‘Chateau de Selle’ is a beauty that combines 55% Grenache with 25% Cinsault, 14% Mourvedre, and 6% Syrah. It is elegant and mineral-laden stuff that offers a silky texture alongside serious salty stone character, with blood orange peel, ripe strawberry and salted green melon flavors. Gorgeous now in its vibrant youth, enjoy over the next eight plus years to come. Drink 2024-2032- 93
