Today we present one of the really killer new wine brands out of Napa. Abloom is a Rose project by three famed female winemakers: Molly Hill, Ashley Hepworth and Sally Johnson Blum. The wine is inspired by the great Grenache based rose wines of Provence and comes from a high elevation site atop the Napa Valley.
The wine is made in a very textural style, offering a very Domaine Tempier v Napa feel. It is pretty and complex wine that is gonna be astoundingly good at the Thanksgiving table or any Tuesday night. The 2024 Abloom (OB, 93) is one of the standout Rose wines I have tasted this year. It is pretty and downright sexy with its core of red fruits and flavor range. Learn more at https://www.abloomwine.com/ and her is my review of the inaugural release of Abloom Rose.
2024 Abloom Rose- Sourced from the Paras Vineyard on Mount Veeder, this is 100% Grenache Rose that was made by three female winemakers: Molly Hill, Ashley Hepworth and Saslly Johnson Blum. This is rich and beautifully-textured stuff, with good stuffing and verve. Pretty guava and strawberry fruits collide with Mandarin orange peel, alongside copious minerals on the palate. This is absolutely gorgeous stuff that will age gracefully for years to come. Drink 2025-2033- 93
