Here are the beautiful new ‘23 red wines by Cimento.

Cimento

October 27, 2025

A brilliant brand from the Rocks District, today we share the amazing wines of Cimento. A Latin word with a historical meaning, Cimento refers to a mixture used by goldsmiths to purify precious metals, usually by fire. In the seventeenth century, the term gained broader meaning and referred to testing or experimenting: ‘to try’ or ‘to experiment.’ The name is meant to lend itself to a philosophy of experimentation.

These wines come from Cimento’s land holdings in the Walla Walla Rocks District. Cimento is owned by the Walla Walla Land Company — the largest land holders in the Rocks District. The last set of wines were amazing and these were just as good.

Check out the stunning 2023 Cimento ‘Orselli Estate’ Syrah (OB, 97) which is a stunning wine with amazing flavor range. Learn more at https://www.cimentowines.com/ and here are my reviews of the new Cimento red wine releases.

2023 Cimento ‘Orselli Estate Vineyard’ Grenache- A stunning edition of this wine, the 2023 Cimento ‘Orselli Estate Vineyard’ Grenache is deep, rich and beautifully-textured stuff. Guava puree, charcuterie, Mandarin orange zest and wet stone all mingle together on the palate, with excellent verve. Very pretty and electric, no reason to cellar this beauty. Enjoy now and over the next eight plus years. Drink 2025-2033- 96

2023 Cimento ‘Orselli Estate Vineyard’ Syrah- Inky in the glass, the 2023 Cimento ‘Orselli Estate Vineyard’ Syrah is a stunning new wine that has marvelous stony character. Beef drippings, Hoisin sauce and iodine all mark the palate alongside dense dark fruits, and creosote notes. Heady and intense, enjoy now and over the next eight plus years. Drink 2025-2033- 97
