Here are the gorgeous vineyards of Cuvaison.

Cuvaison

April 21, 2025

I have had some fond visits to Cuvaison and have been enjoying their wines for more than twenty yeas. There is little doubt that they make world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that focuses on poise and texture. I have long admired these wines and fondly recall tasting some impressive early 2000s Chardonnay when I was in graduate school. It is hard to believe that this winery was first founded back in 1969. Then in 1979 they acquired 400 acres of highly prized land north of San Pablo Bay in the Los Carneros district of Napa Valley which is a site that is highly influenced by fog and cooler temperatures from the bay.

They have done really well even in difficult vintages. I love the 2024 Cuvaison Rose (OB, 91) which is juicy and loaded with bright acidity. Learn more about this outstanding producer at https://www.cuvaison.com and here are the killer sparkling wine, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir releases by Cuvaison.

2023 Cuvaison ‘Coeurtina’ Chardonnay- The outstanding 2023 Cuvaison ‘Coeurtina’ Chardonnay comes from the Tia Vineyard in the Carneros region. It is thick, rich and concentrate stuff offering tropical fruits that mingle well with honeydew melon and nutty accents on the palate. Generous and full-bodied, enjoy now and over the next eight to ten years. Drink 2025-2033- 93

2024 Cuvaison Rose- Made from Grenache grapes, the 2024 Rose delivers a smooth mouthfeel and copious minerals on the palate, as cranberry and blood orange zest combine with bright red raspberry and lemon blossom water on the palate. Drink 2025-2031- 91

2023 Cuvaison ‘Mariafeld’ Pinot Noir- The gorgeous 2023 Cuvaison ‘Mariafeld’ Pinot Noir delivers rocky soils and rich red and dark fruits on the palate, with a smooth mouthfeel. Full-bodied and voluptuous, enjoy now and over the next ten years to come. Drink 2025-2035- 93
