Here are the sensational fall 2025 releases by Avennia.

Avennia

August 21, 2025

I feel like I just wrote an article on this winery; but yet again, I taste a winery’s offerings and immediately need to write about how sensational they are. The consistency exhibited from Avennia has been nothing short of magical since this winery’s inception. Avennia is a joint venture between former Microsoft exec Marty Taucher and winemaker Chris Peterson. These wines are incredibly consistent and extremely well-made.

Former DeLille Cellars Winemaker Chris Peterson crafts some beautiful, concentrated and well-structured wines for Avennia. The wines have amazing poise and balance, as well as typicity. I adored the new 2022 Avennia ‘Estate Red Mountain’ Cabernet Sauvignon  (OB, 97) which has amazing flavor density and a seamless nature from this slightly cooler vintage. Learn more about these special wines at avennia.com Here are my reviews of the new future fall release Avennia wines.

2023 Avennia ‘Justine’ Red Wine- The amazing 2022 ‘Justine’ combines mainly Upland Vineyard Grenache with smaller parts Mourvèdre and Syrah. Garrigue and mandarin orange rind fill the nose alongside wet stone and shades of smoked meats. The palate is soft, complex and absolutely delicious, with its delightful core of bright red fruits, alongside citrus zest and red rose water. This will surely live on for another decade. Drink 2025-2037- 95

2023 Avennia ‘Arnaut’ Syrah- The totally dazzling 2032 ‘Arnaut’ Syrah comes from the Boushey Vineyard and is 100% varietal and native yeast fermented. The wine was stored in nearly all neutral French oak before bottling. It can benefit from a one hour decant and once aroused this exudes class with bacon fat and green peppercorns on the nose alongside tar, Cuban cigar and shades of black licorice. The palate is silky and refined with serious texture and underlying verve. Dense and rich, as well as very savory, enjoy now and over the next fifteen years to come. Drink 2025-2040- 96

2022 Avennia ‘Estate Red Mountain’ Cabernet Sauvignon- The 2022 ‘Red Mountain’ Cabernet comes from the Avennia Estate Vineyard. It comes off very seamless throughout the drinking experience. Wild herbs and shades of scorched earth combine with boysenberry compote, black tea and Middle Eastern spices on the palate. The combination of weightlessness, flavor density and underlying tension really makes this thing sing. A singular, stunning example of Red Mountain Cabernet, this will surely live on for another two decades. Don’t be afraid to open this beauty now. Drink 2025-2045- 97
