It is my great pleasure to share the outstanding wines of Gramercy Cellars. It is remarkable that Gramercy was founded more than twenty years ago by winemaker and master sommelier, Greg Harrington, MS. For years Gramercy has been making some of the finest Rhones and Rose wines in Washington State. Harrington incredibly passed the master sommelier exam at the age of 26 and he partners with his talented co-winemaker, Brandon Moss, to focus on wines with balance and typicity of the individual varietal. These are wines that embody structure and poise, with good richness and varietal character. The wines have typically a small amount of new French oak utilized and many of these wines were stored in barrel for more than twenty months.
I love the new Pet Nat, the 2024 Gramercy Cellars Picpoul (OB, 92) which is one of the best Pet Nat wines I have tasted in North America. It is exceedingly easy to drink, with great flavor complexity. I adored the 2021 Gramercy ‘Holy Roller Vineyard’ Syrah (OB, 95) which is the refined side of Rocks Syrah.
