Today we share the great wines of Tamber Bey. Named after the Arabian horses at the estate, Tamber Bey began back in1999 and is a family-owned business, with Barry and Jennifer managing operations and marketing, and Barry's daughter, Kendra, managing the wine club. The winery is located in Calistoga and focuses on estate-grown wines at their Sundance Ranch, a functioning 22-acre equestrian facility.
The new wines were seriously good. Sally Johnson Blum crafts an outstanding lineup and I adored her 2024 UV Vineyard’ Pinot Noir (OB, 95) which is deep and concentrated with amazing soil character. 2024 Tamber Bey ‘UV Vineyard’ Pinot Noir- The 2024 Tamber Bey ‘UV Vineyard’ Pinot Noir is smooth and voluptuous with a terrific mouthfeel and texture. Smooth throughout the drinking experience, this offers cran-cola, sassafras and dried herbs that mingle well with wet clay on the palate. The soil character is outstanding. 2024 Tamber Bey ‘Hallberg Vineyard’ Pinot Noir- The 2024 Tamber Bey ‘Hallberg Vineyard’ Pinot Noir is juicy, broad-shouldered Pinot Noir that is drinking marvelously now. Dark rose petals and cardamom dusted red fruits mark the nose alongside orange peel tones. The palate is soft and inviting with a smooth mouthful and lovely salty soil character. Drink 2026-2041- 94
2023 Tamber Bey ‘Oakville Ranch Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon- The 2023 Tamber Bey ‘Oakville Ranch Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% varietal, offering loamy soils, dark currants and tar on the nose alongside shades of wet rock. The palate is dense and delicious with a terrific mouthfeel and great loamy soil character. The sense of place is awesome. Drink 2026-2041- 95
