2023 Kobayashi ‘Mizunara’ Cabernet Franc- This is now the second time that I have reviewed the unforgettable 2023 ‘Mizunara’ which was sourced from old vine Cabernet Franc at the Red Willow Vineyard. This is just as polished and seamless as when I first tried this beauty in November 2025. Creme de violette, tar, blackberry compote, Arabica bean and dusty soils all come together on the palate alongside serious texture and verve. The wafts of blue fruits that come into the flavor profile with impeccable opulence really add to the enjoyment. Pillowy and soft, enjoy this beauty over the next twenty plus years to come.
