2017 Washington Report

December 1, 2017

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued support of Washington Wine Blog. Our coverage continues with the latest from Washington State. As International Wine Report Senior Editor, I have reviewed over 650 new releases from Washington in the past year. I believe this to be one of the most comprehensive reports out of Washington. The report spans Washington's major appellations, including Columbia Valley, Walla Walla and Red Mountain AVA’s.

Some of the stellar showings were from Cayuse Vineyards, including their perfect 2014 Cayuse Vineyards ‘God Only Knows’ Red Wine and their absolutely stunning lineup of stony, terroir driven reds. Other top peformers from the Walla Walla Rocks District and Walla Walla AVA include stunners from Reynvaan Family Vineyards, Rasa Vineyards, Leonetti, Gramercy, Corliss, Abeja, and the scintillating new Syrah by Delmas.

Other top producers from the Columbia Valley and Red Mountain include the epic Cabernet lineup by Quilceda Creek which flirts with perfection, as well as killer wines by Col Solare, Avennia, DeLille, Den Hoed, EFESTE, and Long Shadows,

We feel that this report provides some compelling evidence that some of the best wines in the world are made in Washington — and that Washington boasts some of the best value wines available in the retail market.
