When a new project by Matt and Lauren Reynvaan arises, your ears quickly perk up. MTR Productions is the exciting new venture created by Matt and Lauren Reynvaan. There’s no website for this wine, or no current reviews as literally nothing has been written about this wine. I recently had the chance to sample this new release and it is seriously good.

Their new wine is 100% Syrah from the esteemed 2012 vintage and is called ‘Memory Found.’ Despite it being 100% Syrah there is a wonderful floral edge to the wine. This a very special release by one of the great talents in Washington wine, Matt Reynvaan. The texture, range, salinity and downright sexy terroir makes this wine absolutely irresistible. This wine has gobs of mouth-watering acidity and savory characteristics that make this awesome wine nearly impossible to put down. I would try to surmise where you can find more details this special project but there is literally nothing written about this wine or no offerings available online. I have been told by Lauren and Matt Reynvaan that to find this exciting new wine email info@mtr-productions.com or call (509) 240-4270. Here is my review of the 2012 MTR Productions 'Memory Found' Syrah.

2012 MTR Productions 'Memory Found' Syrah-  This is a new Syrah project crafted by superstar winemaker Matt Reynvaan. Weighing in at a mere 13.1% alcohol, this outstanding wine needs about an hour in the decanter to fully express itself. Once aroused, the wine slowly reveals aromatics reminiscent of Meyer lemon blossom, umami, bacon fat, pipe tobacco, black olive tapenade and black cherry cough syrup. Before you even try the wine the jaw-dropping aromas make you salivate. Despite it being 100% Syrah there is a beautiful citrus edge to this wine. Silky smooth on the palate, this wine showcases Chinese black tea, cigar box, blood orange zest and black truffle crudo flavors that connect with some strong minerality. The salinity and structure of the wine are outstanding. Sexy, and showing gorgeous range, this outstanding effort is best enjoyed over the next decade. Drink 2017-2027- 95
