Here is the absolutely incredible new Result of A Crush Rose wine.

Result of A Crush

April 3, 2023

It has now been more than a year since I have written about some of Washington’s finest value wines. Result of A Crush was a project that was started more than a decade back to create a second tier of Reynvaan wines. Amanda Reynvaan and Angela Reynvaan Garratt, sisters of consulting winemaker Matt Reynvaan, sought to create wines that are more readily available and affordable than the Reynvaan wines. Most of these wines are in the 20-30 dollar range. While they might be perceived as ‘Baby Reynvaan’ wines, each bottling is a serious, stand alone wine. Years ago Matt Reynvaan made an incredible Rose wine from the 2015 vintage. He swore to me that he would never again make a Rose wine. I loved that Rose so much that I enjoyed it prior to my engagement.

I am blown away once again with the 2022 Result of A Crush ‘Summer Cuvee’ Rose (OB, 93) which is a wine to buy by the case. This is a simply incredible value that is very stony and shows off a gorgeous texture. Trust me, do not miss out on this one. Learn more about Result of A Crush at http://resultofacrush.com and here are my reviews of the great new wines by Result of A Crush.

2020 Result of A Crush Rose- Matt Reynvaan has not made this wine since the 2015 vintage which yielded a record early harvest. This comes off wonderfully flinty on the nose with ripe red raspberry and red cherry notes alongside shades of white rose water. The palate is seamless and beautifully textured with a light salinity and wonderful feeling of underlying tension. The weight of this wine is marvelous as well — as is the exceedingly long finish. Do not miss out on this impossible to resist Rose bottling that will no doubt cellar well over the next seven years. Drink 2023-2030- 93

2021 Result of A Crush White Wine- The 2021 Result of A Crush White Wine is a crazy good blend of mainly Grenache Blanc (75%) with the remainder Marsanne from their vineyard in the Rocks District. This shows wonderful stony character with great tension and a smooth mouthfeel upon entry. Gooseberry and kiwi flavors combine with shades of nectarine skin on the palate, with wet stony accents. Drink 2023-2029- 92

2019 The Unnamed Series Syrah- This 100% varietal bottling shows sterling tension on the mouth, with layers of hoisin sauce, white pepper dusted bacon, black olives and blackberry cordial flavors. Medium-bodied with good stuffing and verve, this beauty is really singing right now. Drink 2023-2029- 92

2020 Result of A Crush ‘Claret’ Red Wine- The 2020 ‘Claret’ comes from the Reyvaan ‘In The Rocks Vineyard’ in the Walla Walla Rocks AVA. Very salty and savory, this reveals black olive, creosote and black tea flavors alongside good verve on the palate. Enjoy now. Drink 2023-2027- 91

2020 Result of A Crush ‘Reserve’ Syrah- This is a never been done bottling that offers smoked brisket, beef drippings, oyster sauce and stony accents on the nose. The palate is very smoky, salty and savory with good acidity to back things up. Enjoy now. Drink 2023-2027- 91
