Here are the beautiful new 2019 bottlings by Elentone.

Elentone

May 31, 2023

There is little doubt that sparkling wines of the Pacific Northwest are here to stay. A very exciting limited production winery out of Washington, Elentone is the brainchild of winemaker Chris Sherry. Sherry hails from Brighton in southern England, which is somewhat of a stone’s throw from England’s premier sparkling wine country. Sherry is an avid Brighton football supporter and shares the same passion for sparkling wines.

All of his wines are made in the traditional Champagne method and are given a limited amount of dosage. Just as the last releases by Elentone, these are very fresh and show fantastic underlying acidity with a soft mousse. The latest releases both come from the exciting Rainmaker Vineyard which is producing some really outstanding Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Columbia Gorge AVA. The 2019 Elentone ‘Noa Blanc de Blancs’ Sparkling Wine (OB, 93) shows amazing salty character with really good stuffing. Learn more about these beautiful wines at elentone.com and here are the outstanding new wines by Elentone.

2019 Elentone ‘Noa’ Blanc de Blancs Sparkling Wine- The 2019 ‘Noa’ comes from the Rainmaker Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA. This is very ripe and fleshy despite the coolness of the vintage. Ripe nectarine and green apple tones combine wth sallty minerals on the palate. Fresh and vibrant, this is downright awesome stuff to enjoy now and over the next eight years. Drink 2023-2031- 93

2019 Elentone ‘Shadow’ Rose Sparkling Wine- This Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Wine also is sourced from the Rainmaker Vineyard and was stored for 36 months en tirage before disgorgement. The wine shows a beautiful core of tart red fruits with blood orange zest, tilled salty soils and shades of wild mushroom on the palate. Highly nuanced and downright geeky, this is a beautifully showing by winemaker Chris Sherry. Enjoy now and over the next eight plus years. Drink 2023-2031- 93
