Great photo of Fairsing proprietors, the McNallys.

Fairsing Vineyard

May 1, 2024

I love Oregon wineries offering wines at a fair price. Such is the case with Fairsing Vineyard. This family owned site is well-known for their outstanding Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs. Stewards of their land, Mary Ann and Mike McNally purchased Fairsing Vineyard in the summer of 2005, with the purchase of approximately 200 acres of harvested forestland.  Then in October 2006 eighteen acres of vines were successfully planted and trellised with the assistance of Oregon’s collegial winegrower community. Vineyard development continued at roughly five acres per year, with a total of thirty-eight acres of Pinot noir and five acres of Chardonnay currently under vine. Vines at Fairsing are nestled among one-hundred acres of forest, and seventy acres have been reforested with 18,000 conifers, 3,000 deciduous trees, and more than 6,000 native shrubs. This is a gorgeous, scenic location that is a must visit for any Pinotphile.

Winemaker Robert Brittan makes incredible wines for Fairsing and his namesake brand. His new wines showed beautiful poise and weight from the 2019 vintage. I love the entry level 2021 Fairsing Vineyard ‘Yamhill-Carlton’ Pinot Noir (OB, 92) which is chewy and dense with beautiful texture. Even better is the 2021 Fairsing Vineyard ‘Dardis’ Pinot Noir (OB, 94) which has a downright awesome refinement and elegance with plenty of stuffing. Learn more about these outstanding wines at fairsingvineyard.com and here are my reviews of the new wines by Fairsing Vineyard.
