Here are the world-class values by Result of A Crush.

Result of A Crush

March 13, 2025

Somehow it has been more than a year since I have written about some of Washington’s finest value wines. Result of A Crush was a project that was started more than a decade back to create a second tier of Reynvaan wines. Amanda Reynvaan and Angela Reynvaan Garratt, sisters of consulting winemaker Matt Reynvaan, sought to create wines that are more readily available and affordable than the Reynvaan wines. These wines totally over-deliver at the 20-30 dollar range. They are essentially ‘baby-Reynvaans.’

You don’t really find QPR like this anywhere in Washington State. I am blown away once again with the 2022 Result of A Crush ‘Christmas Cuvee’ Rose (OB, 93) which is without a doubt a wine to buy by the case. I don’t think there is any way you are going to be disappointed with these wines. Learn more about Result of A Crush at http://resultofacrush.com and here are my reviews of the great new wines by Result of A Crush.

2022 Result of A Crush ‘Christmas Cuvee’ Syrah- The 2022 ‘Christmas Cuvee’ is loaded with garrigue, Hoisin sauce, black olives, charcuterie and black currant flavors on the palate, showing beautiful finesse and minerality. The flavor range is outstanding. It is medium-bodied and delicious stuff that is already beautifully evolved. Drink 2025-2033- 93

2022 Result of A Crush ‘The Unnamed Series’ Syrah- The 2022 ‘Unnamed Series’ has 3% Viognier blended in. Beautiful honeysuckle notes from the Viognier fill the glass, alongside bright red fruits, smoked pork shoulder, orange peel and shades of Umami. The palate is fresh and lithe with a polished mouthfeel. While on the leaner side, this is highly complex Syrah that is drinking well right now. Enjoy over the next eight years. Drink 2025-2033- 92

2021 Result of A Crush ‘Claret’ Red Wine- The 2021 ‘Claret’ comes from the Reyvaan ‘In The Rocks Vineyard’ in the Walla Walla Rocks AVA. Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) with the remainder Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this offers smoldering stones and Earl Grey tea on the nose with menthol, sandalwood and shades of dark currants that all meld in the glass. The palate is soft and refined with a silky texture and great sense of underlying verve and stony essence. You won’t find a Bordeaux style wine anywhere quite like this at this price. Drink 2025-2033- 93

2022 Result of A Crush ‘Reserve’ Syrah- The 2022 ‘Reserve’ Syrah is 100% varietal and seriously delicious. Dark in the glass, this delivers suggestions of bulls blood, oyster sauce and beef brisket on the nose with fresh sage and Mandarin orange zest accents. Salty and savory on the mouth, with a smooth texture, enjoy now and over the next eight years to come. Drink 2025-2033- 93
