Some of you might not know that HALL produces some consistently great Sauvignon Blanc and Rose wines. HALL might be synonymous with top Cabernet but they actually have an incredible range under other labels as well. Founded back in1992 by Katheryn and Craig Hall, and over time they built one of Napa’s most beautiful, state of the art, wineries that is quite simply a must visit for any serious Napa enophile. This is a really special spot in St. Helena and the grounds are just incredible to take in.
HALL also have two outstanding separate lines, WALT (focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) and BACA (focusing on Zinfandel) that are seriously good in their own right. These brands have performed remarkably well since their inception. 2024 HALL ‘Napa Valley’ Sauvignon Blanc- Another terrific edition of this wine, the 2024 HALL ‘Napa Valley’ Sauvignon Blanc was entirely stored in stainless steel prior to bottling. 2024 WALT Rose- The 2024 WALT Rose was sourced from a range of vineyards across California. Right away this allures with juicy pear and cranberry notes on the nose alongside shades of lemon rind and bright starfruit. 2023 WALT ‘Sonoma Coast’ Chardonnay- The 2023 WALT ‘Sonoma Coast’ is a gorgeous wine that shows off great poise and richness in this slightly cooler vintage. 2023 WALT ‘Sangiacomo Vineyard’ Chardonnay- Another great edition of this wine, the 2023 ‘Sangiacomo’ Chardonnay was sourced from Old Wente Clonal selection. Golden in the glass, this is loaded with tension, lip-smacking acidity and beautiful texture. Rich honeydew melon and Japanese pear combine with salted peaches on the palate, with loads of stony minerals. Gorgeous now, enjoy over the next decade. Drink 2025-2035- 94
2023 WALT ‘Bob’s Ranch’ Chardonnay- A downright killer wine, the 2023 ’Bob’s Ranch’ Chardonnay was sourced from this location in the Sonoma Coast AVA and owned by the HALL family. This is loaded with richness and texture upon entry. Baking spice laced pastry crust, roasted pineapple and banana aromatics fill the nose alongside roasted fig and walnut accents.
