It was back in 2011 that the Davis family purchased the century-old estate winery and began their ambitious restoration project to create a distinguished winery. Mike Davis has a long and fond association with the Napa Valley. Growing up in San Mateo County just south of San Francisco, his family spent summer vacations at the Napa Valley Ranch Club. Davis Estates is the culmination of a life long dream. Davis Estates is a family owned and operated estate located in Calistoga. Winemaker Walter Leiva is a Napa native with a degree in Viticulture and Enology from Napa Valley College, Walter took a non-traditional path into winemaking, driven more by curiosity and a love of science than a lifelong dream. He has formerly worked at Gloria Ferrer, Andretti Winery, Odette, and Laird Family Estate, gaining experience with everything from sparkling wine to Italian varietals to cult Cabernets. 2024 Davis Estates ‘Napa Valley’ Sauvignon Blanc- The 2024 Davis Estates ‘Napa Valley’ Sauvignon Blanc is a rich and unctuous bottling loaded with texture and melon fruit flavors. Smooth throughout the drinking experience, with excellent viscosity, enjoy now and over the next few years. Drink 2026-2031- 92
2022 Davis Estates ‘Zephyr’ Red Wine- The 2022 ‘Zephyr’ combines mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (53%) with smaller amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Cocoa powder and Arabica bean notes combine with black florals on the nose. The palate is smooth and viscous with terrific texture and loamy soil character. Drink 2026-2036- 92
2023 Davis Estates Cabernet Franc- The 2023 Davis Estates Cabernet Franc comes off rich and dense on the tongue with a terrific mouthfeel. Green herbs collide with pencil lead, mocha and tar notes on the palate. Really good, enjoy over the next ten to fifteen years. Drink 2026-2040- 93
